„Tête-à-tête IV is an international exhibition hosted by Interact Cismigiu and curated by Theodor Niculae, which aims to familiarize both the artist and the public with their inner selves through different themes. This edition’s theme goes around addressing fear as an area of vulnerability, as an intimate space in which the artist hides (and reveals themselves) in front of the public.The approach of fear in art has been constantly changing throughout time, often swinging between being considered as a problematic, taboo or nonconformist issue.
The purpose of this event is to explore this vast and complex topic, ranging from fear of exposure, fear of failure, fear of owning up to one’s actions, fear of abandonment, fear of riding a plane, fear of talking, fear of not being listened, fear of death to fear of tomorrow. This list has no end, seeing as each and every one of us is haunted by one, at least. Along with this endless list of fears comes the endless list of questions they bring, to which answers can rarely be found.”
